While the motto of "hands-face-space" will certainly be an integral part of the club, it's evident that trust is growing and more people are making face-to-face relationships. However, the nature of Rotary has changed. It is not without a degree of uncertainty that will continue to grow as we progress to the summer of 2021. It remains to be seen if the personal connections Rotary members cherished previously will be maintained. The phrase "hands meet in front of each other" will be one of the routines It's evident that there's a rising confidence and a need to be face-to-face with people. Rotary's changing. Rotary's networks create bonds lasting. The Pandemic was an impetus for us to adopt technology. We have sharpened up our practices maintaining online meetings for our business while introducing activities for service and social with a secure face-to-face setting. For the sake of building a better future for Rotary, we have used to take advantage of the pandemic as well as our traditional habits. A recent Rotary survey, it was encouraging to see that around 75% of clubs are making plans for their "business regular initiatives" The warmer months have seen many members out and about focussing on initiatives such as cleaning the beach and river, litter picking, and of course providing ongoing services to the society of Rotary volunteer teams giving their time for COVID testing and vaccination centers. Rotary along with many other clubs, has helped me build a strong network of fellow members with the same values as me and from whom I have developed genuine relationships over the past 20 years.
