Apollonia Kotero

Patricia Apollonia Kotero is an American actress singer and former model. The actress was the co-star in Prince's 1984 film Purple Rain, and the singer for the girl band Apollonia 6 Her name was among the female performers who gained from Prince's collaboration in the late 1980s. Patricia Kotero was born in Santa Monica, California in the year 1959. Her professional career began as a model during the 1970s. Also, she made an appearance on CHiPS. In 1984, she got the role of the lead female in Prince's Purple Rain (during which time she altered her name) and replaced Vanity as part of the female-led trio Vanity 6 who performed in the film under the name Apollonia 6. The three scored a minor success with the film Sex Shooter, but it was as Prince's duet partner in Take Me with You from the soundtrack that she achieved an impact on the charts. Kotero's collaboration with Prince has ended after they disagreed on the direction she was taking in her career. Apollonia 6, the group she was part of was split. She appeared in a few film roles (reportedly declining to be on"The Purple Rain" sequel Purple Rain sequel Under the Cherry Moon) but she was not being cast in the role of Falcon Crest in 1985-1986. Apollonia dropped her first album in 1988. However, it was an average mix of dance and R&B music which did not impress people. It quickly vanished out of sight.
